NSSC Scenic Fitness Trail

The fitness trail is approximately 1.5 miles, running the perimeter of Natick Soldier Systems Center in a continuous loop along scenic Lake Cochituate.  The trail passes through other recreation areas like Jellison Sports Field, the Point Picnic Area, the Beach, and passes the Fitness Center, a great starting and ending point. 

The trail is partially paved, partially gravel with varying degrees of incline and decline grades.  

Fixed fitness stations along the trail include:

  • balance beam -stretch bar -trunk twist -step ups
  • knee lift -circle body -leg stretch -vault bar -body curl
  • log hop -chin up -sit up -seated dips -bench curl -push ups

The fitness trail is a summer time favorite for exercise or to simply enjoy the outdoors close to the workplace.

The "Point" Picnic Areas

USAG Natick is very fortunate to have great outdoor recreation areas right in the center of Natick. 

Commonly referred to as "The Point", this 1 acre plus peninsula is host to countless Installation, Open Post, Unit, and Individual Activities. The Point is also home to Gibson Outdoor Pool and the William Lord Community Recreation Center. 

A playground, swingset, and volleyball net are on site.  Please contact the Family and MWR Office to reserve a specific area for your upcoming outing!

Lake Cochituate Beach & Boat Rental

The Beach on Lake Cochituate operates seasonally offering picnic space and boat rentals for use on or off site.  Patrons may also launch privately owned vessels upon request.  Visit the NSSC beach page for more information.

Lake Cochituate is part of Cochituate State Park, a popular day use park featuring water based recreational opportunities including boating, swimming, windsurfing, and fishing on its three large lakes, accessible through channels under roadways.  

Access to Lake Cochituate is also available from Cochituate State Park, 43 Commonwealth Rd, Natick, Ma, 01760. 

Cochituate Rail Trail

The Cochituate Rail Trail is a multi-use trail in Framingham and Natick, paved on the former Saxonville Branch line. 

The Framingham section opened in 2015 with the Natick section following in 2021.  The trail begins in Natick center and heads north crossing General Greene Avenue on its way to Natick attractions and the City of Framingham.  Visit https://www.facebook.com/crtrail for official information.
